PCHS will be providing pet therapy to the local seniors at Larned Health Care on the third Saturday of every month at 1:00pm. If you are interested in joining us we will be going on February 18. If you would like to bring a shelter dog or cat with you, we will be meeting at the shelter at 12:30 to pick up suitable companions. If you would like to bring your own dog or cat, and he or she is calm and well-behaved, you can meet us at the facility at 1:00pm. Please call Carolyn at 285-5162 for more information.

Thanks to everyone who helped make our FILL-THE-TRUCK food drive a SUCCESS; We couldn't do without you!!! And, a special thanks, as always, to Alco, Dillon's, Dollar General, and Pamida for letting us put our flyer's up inside and have our trucks parked outside!!
January 20, 2012 ATTENTION: OUR OPEN HOURS ARE CHANGING
Beginning Monday January 23, 2012 the shelter will no longer have evening hours, with the exception of Thursday. Our new open hours will be Monday through Friday 12-2pm, Thursday 6-8pm, and Saturday 1-4pm. We are closed on Sunday.

Thanks to everyone who joined us last night for our volunteer appreciation dinner and annual meeting. We had a record turnout and even had to order more pizza!! Special thanks to Pizza Hut for donating the pizza and to our board members for making the tasty salads and desserts. And again thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers; we would not be where we are today without you.

Welcome to our new website! We hope you enjoy our fresh new look. On either side of our logo, we feature pictures of dogs and cats that are available for adoption at the shelter. If you're interested in adopting one of our furry friends, stop by during our open hours (M-F 6-8p Sat 1-4). If there's a particular dog you're interested in seeing, you should call first, as that dog might be in a foster home and we will need to arrange to have him or her brought to the shelter! Please email Kelly Edison at kelly.edison@yahoo.com if you have questions, comments, concerns or have ideas about anything in particular that you would like to see featured on our new site!

The 2012 Pawnee County Humane Society Calendars are now available! They are $10 each and make wonderful Christmas gifts. Calendars are available at the shelter, at Larned Vet Clinic, Carr Auto Electric, and State Farm Insurance, or through any board member. Please stop by during our open hours to pick one up or send us an email at pchs@pawneehumane.com to get yours. We thank everyone who participated in the contest.
